Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimmyenez, 2 September 1966)[3][4][5[3][4][5), is an American and Mexican actress. Her professional career began in Mexico and she appeared in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which resulted in an Ariel Award nomination. With roles in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) She quickly made herself a household name as a leading actress in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal as Frida, the painter, in Frida (2002) in which she also produced, was what made Hayek the first Mexican actor to win the Academy Award [6]. In addition, it earned her a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek appeared in the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico pictures in the following years and focused more on making films.
